NEWCASTLE, Feb 4 AAP - Federal Opposition Leader Mark Latham is discovering just how
tough things are in regional Australia, following an emotional outburst by a local mother.

Kerrie-Lea Menzies today painted a picture of life in Raymond Terrace, near Newcastle,
as she heckled the Labor leader and accused him of pushing naive and idealistic views.

High crime rates, mental illness and children crying out for help were the norm in
