School spirit soared at Siena College on Tuesday as recognition of the men's basketball team's berth in the NCAA Tournament took root on campus, one day after the Saints clinched the NCAA berth with a victory over Niagara in the final of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament at Pepsi Arena.
The Saints became the first team to win four games in the MAAC Tournament and gained an NCAA berth for the second time in four years. Siena (16-18) will open NCAA play next week against an opponent that will be determined on Sunday.
