Teacher pay talks continue

Queensland schools hit by teachers' recent stop work meetings will be free from industrialaction for three days.

Teachers are demanding a pay rise and other guarantees from the state government inongoing talks.

Queensland Teachers' Union representatives will meet with Education Minister ANNA BLIGHtomorrow, and report to the state industrial relations commission on Wednesday.

Teachers have scheduled the next stop work meetings for Thursday.

They're seeking an eight per cent annual pay rise and improvements in class sizes and resources.

The government has offered 3.5 per cent a year.

The union's vice-president, STEVE RYAN, says the union will go into the talks with an open mind.
