A special motorcycling race event is being staged at RAF Honington, 40 years after the legendary Alf Hagon recorded the UK's first 200-plus mph speed on the airfield's runway.
Mr Hagan will be guest of honour at the June 15 event, which is aiming to raise funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
More than 200 of the region's motorcyclists have already signed up for a charity run on the day from Washbrook Service Station, on the old A12, at Copdock, down the A14 to Honington, where once again speed records will be attempted.
